Again about FALL!!!

I really hate to post without pictures again today but I'm gonna!  We really celebrated the first day of fall with just the right kind of food!  We had chili!  Yum! For dessert we had pumpkin pudding!  I know you have to be surprised about that one, don't ya?!!!  I made the pudding and let it set up.  I crushed up some gingersnap cookies and layered them with the pudding in individual bowls and topped them off with some Cool Whip!  They were great! I am going to bake cookies with my pudding today.  Just don't know what kind yet!!  There are quite a few to pick from!  Just guessing I will probably bake the ones with chocolate chips!!  How could I resist the chocolate?!!!

Speaking of fall....I am cleaning my bedroom and rearranging my clothes and getting some ready for donating and some are just so darn old they have to be thrown away!  Wow, I just can't believe how fast the year has went!

HAPPY FALL!!!

I know this is a long overdue post and I'm so sorry it is without a picture but it is the first day of fall so I wanted to post!

I wish everybody a happy fall full of pumpkins, a yard full of leaves and of course a basket full of apples mixed with lots of cool autumn days and very chilly nights! Yes I love fall!  Maybe not as much as winter but it is a very close second!

I love to bake everything fall!  Apples are my favorite fruit in the fall!  They are delicious almost anyway you want to cook them, bake them or just plain eat them down to the core!
 
However, something has caught my attention last fall and this fall!  It's Jello brand pumpkin pudding!
Last fall I looked and looked for this pudding and never could find it.  When I say looked for I mean it.  We must have looked at every store imaginable but this elusive pudding was no where to be bought!  This year I was noticing a trend when I started to look for it.  I was looking in all Indiana stores!  It hit me like a tree full of acorns falling on my head!!!! LOOK in another state!  So that's exactly what I did!  I found it yesterday in Ohio!! YaY!  I must have looked like a kook trying to get my cart loaded with pumpkin pudding!  No one was stopping me and I'm not kidding!  After I get my cart loaded Lilli asked me, "mom are you sure you don't want anymore?"  I said, "haha I think I have enough, thank you!"

Pumpkin is also one of my favorite fall foods and I can't wait to try this pudding!  I have been reading lots of blog posts and noticing recipes on pinterest.com!  I'm sure you know what we will be eating for the rest of fall!  I can't wait!!!

It's Fall here in Winchester!!!

You have read about my friend Heidi before, I'm sure! How she is always doing something for someone or some organization! Well, you always know when it's fall in Winchester because it's time for the Mardi Gras, which by the way Lilli has a great post on it! Back to Heidi, she is with the Women's Business League and they bake and sell cookies for scholarships! The group was having a both at the Mardi Gras and she said she had to bake 16 dozen of 3 different kinds! I said what, I love to bake let me help!!! And that's just what I did with lots of help from Lilli! We took the Snickerdoodles! Yummy!
Here's the dough and....

here they are going in the oven. Would you know I forgot to take a picture of them coming out. Anyway, trust me we baked and baked and in the end they had to have more than they took up which means they sold a lot of cookies! That scholarship fund should be pretty fat!!!

Now that it is fall I am sure I will be getting to cook lots more and bake more than usual! This is a picture of the Chili Pie topped with Hashbrowns and Cheese that I made over the weekend! Yummmmmmy!

this book! I love to read and Debbie Macomber just happens to be one of my favorites! She has a series called Cedar Cove Series! I just finished the latest and learned that she was doing a cookbook to go with it! Of course, I had to have it! It is a wonderful cookbook! The Cauliflower and Potato Cheese soup is great, also!!!!

The leaves in our woods are turning and falling too fast these days! We have lots of rain so we haven't been able to rake them up and play in them yet!! As soon as it dries out, if it does, we will be out there raking those beautiful leaves up and jumping in!

I have to go now! Lots to do! I have to finish up my Angel Swap stuff, I am thinking about baking an apple pie with crumb topping! One of my favorites! And I have 5 pair of flannel sleep pants to make for Lilli! You know my birthday is coming really fast and as always I will be having a giveaway! I am also working on stuff for that!!!

PS.....Just an update we took Gayle back to the bone specialist and her bones are healing!!!
He was very impressed on how quickly the mega doses of Vitamin D helped her mend! We are now working on her calcium levels!!!! We don't have to go back until March!

Baby in her dress and some fall fun!

Here is my sweet adorable great niece in her dress for the wedding! She was so funny with it! She kept throwing it up in the air! Anyway, she is gonna be the belle of the wedding, I think!!!Yesterday was just full of fun! First we had all that baby fun and then it was so warm and nice out Lilli and I couldn't resist playing in the leaves! Here we are taking a picture looking up! There was a jet up there but of course you can't see it!!!

Me! Lilli always has to take a picture of me in the leaves! Silly girl!

Can you see Lilli?!!! We had so much fun! All you can really see is her head, hands and feet!
It was a fun day!! YAY!!!

Anyway, it's a good thing I am the one who blogs!!!! The lighting is not the best! You will find me most often these days with a hat! I love hats!
