Life is ZOOMING by these days!

Can I just say that Life is zooming these days! We are getting ready for the wedding, I had to get my angel swap out, which I am proud to say I made the deadline! Thank goodness! Then we had Halloween on Friday night, then we had Art on Saturday! What a week! There is never a spare moment it seems! But I had to share with you the rest of my birthday goodies!

Gayle, Lilli and John were so sweet! I have all of the Hallmark Snowmen so they got me the newest one! One of us is always pushing the play button every time we walk past! It really does make us smile every time! Oh yes, they got me the two new Debbie Macomber Christmas books! She is one of my favorites! I just can't wait to read them! Then there are these 2 books they gave me! I have been wanting Amy Butler's book IN STITCHES ever since it came out! I love it! Then SEAMS TO ME by Anna Maria Horner! As soon as she started talking about this book, I knew I had to have it! What about that title?! It just says it all! I like them both so much I can't even pick a favorite! Again, I think I received way enough for my birthday, but let's not mention that to Gayle, Lilli, and John they may not get me anything for Christmas!LOL!!!

I am sorry I didn't get over to wish every one a HAPPY HALLOWEEN, so HAPPY HALLOWEEN, late! This is Lilli as a cheerleader! She even wore my little MORTON RED DEVILS beanie! You see when we were in elementary school we had, I think 4 cheerleaders and 3 of us set in the cheering section rooting on our team! Us 3 wore sweaters with a big red M on it and a beanie! The 7 of us girls were just about all of us in our class! We had fun!

The little baby's dress is almost done and the pattern is what I have left to make for Lilli to wear at the wedding! The baby comes today to see if the dress fits and I have to get her measured for the length! I forgot how little baby clothes were! Wow! To get all of the gathers on such a small bodice was a little difficult, but I did it! And then there was a 9 inch zipper in the back! I couldn't imagine a 9 inch zipper in such a little dress, but I got it in there! Thank goodness! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for it fitting!

That's all for me today!
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope you have a wonderfully happy day!

A Recipe and Homemade Halloween & Fall Stuff!

Please notice the new banner by Lilli! Isn't that the sweetest squirrel?!!!!

This is a really cute book! Lots of funny stuff!!! My recipe comes from this book! Aunt Barb gave it to me 16 years ago! Notice the title....THE COMPLEAT I HATE TO COOK BOOK! On the inside she wrote to a person who doesn't hate to cook! I love to cook and bake!! Almost everyone on my mom's side loves to cook! My brother is a great cook! My Grandma Lovell(my dad's mom) was a great cook, too! Her after church Sunday Lunches were great!!! Enough! Here is my recipe that I should have posted yesterday! Sorry! This is for the Recipe Swap that Randi is gracious enough to host!
I fix this recipe just for me because nobody else likes it, but I love it! I fix this one day and eat them for lunch the next day! They are so good the first day, but they are even better the second day!!! I usually eat this with hot buttery French bread or corn muffins! Sorry I don't have a picture!
HOMEBODY BEANS
2 cans kidney beans(undrained)
3 big fresh sliced tomatoes or 2 cans sliced tomatoes(this is good either way)
2 onions, diced
1/2 pound lean bacon, cut in half

Put the first three ingredients in a casserole dish (you can layer this, but I just dump it in!),
then bake in a 300 degree oven for 2 hours, uncovered, then stir. After stirring add half the bacon and bake for another 2 hours, stir again, making sure you get the bacon stirred down in the beans, then add the other half of bacon. Bake another 2 hours and you are done! That is why these are called HOMEBODY BEANS, you have to be home to stir!! Yummy!!!

Just for fun!
I made the BOO word last year! I made the witch about...I can't remember when I made it, but I gave quite a few for gifts, they are out of paper and wood!!! Love it!

Then I made the this runner and one similar for my mom about 6 years ago! I have 2 snowman runners almost done(almost done for about 6 years!!!)I will get them done this year! These patterns are from Farmyard Creations!

That's all for today! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! BSU Art starts for Lilli tomorrow!!!(my chance to get some WIP'S done!!!)YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!! Two whole hours to do what I want!!!!

Wherever you are whatever you are doing, I hope you have a wonderfully happy day!!!!

A Very Nice Weekend!!!!

We all had a wonderful weekend here! I hope you all did! This was John's first weekend off in about 3 months! It was just nice to do whatever we wanted to do! The only thing was, it was just so hot here. When Lilli and I came home from Muncie at 8:45pm it was still 87 degrees!
I'm just sayin' with fall only 5 days away, that is toooo hot! We are so ready for fall! Since Ike moved through, the temps have dropped dramatically! It is 67 degrees now!!!!YAY!

Now to tell you what we did! We went shopping for everything we needed and some things that we didn't need! John stayed home with Gayle to get caught up on all that TV he has been missing! I got to sew some things that have been staring at me!

I was able to make 2 baby blankets and 6 baby bibs! They are for my great niece! I thought I should get them made before she turns 6!!!!LOL! She's only 4 months old, but you know how fast time goes!!! The bibs are a pattern from Bending the Rules Sewing Book! Sew easy! Love that book!!!! I am now going to start practicing up on my zippers! It has been forever since I have used a zipper in anything! The instructions in this book look fairly simple!
Have you seen this book? If you like Halloween, you would really like it! We bought it on our outing! It has an in stitches section, an owl section, what you can do with fresh produce section,
all kinds of crafty things to make, and lots of tricks and treats! We give this book by Matthew Mead *****'s!!!!!!

We went to Joann's! What's a girl gonna do with all of those coupons, you have to use them, right?
Well, I bought a magazine, did I need it? No, but I'm glad I bought it! Home and Heart! I love it! I really like the Home and Heart Holiday! The fall Quilt Sampler was out, of course, I couldn't resist that! I bought some essentials, you know needles, floss, a pattern! With gas so high I have to make every trip count, right?!!!
Then I bought this box! I love this box! It is big, it has a lot of room inside, and it has my favorite saying on it! LOVE MUCH! LIVE WELL! LAUGH OFTEN!!!! My good friend, Deanna, painted this saying on a 6ft board that hangs above my picture window in the living room! LOVE IT!!!!

Then to Kohl's we went! You can never have tooo many towels, can you?!!! At least that is what I tell John! Well, these towels were 65% off and I had another 30% off! They were my perfect color! Love that green! I love any green! I got 5 sets altogether for $22.00!!!! Talk about a sale!
That was my weekend! Leave me a comment and let me know how your weekend went!

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope you have a wonderfully happy day!
