What a Week...My Birthday and the giveaway winnings arrive!!!

Wednesday was my birthday and my friends and family were great!

I received flowers from my best friend ever! She not only sent flowers but her and her daughter brought me pizza, brownies and a wonderful cherry chip dip! She even brought all the plastic ware, paper stuff, and a big bag of gifts! That was wonderful!

My other best friend sent me more flowers with a balloon tied to a bag of goodies!

On to the giveaway prizes!
The package from Brenda arrived yesterday with
these wonderful fuzzy socks that I had to put on right away so they didn't get in the picture with everything else! There was no way I was going to take them off!

The socks came with three gorgeous fabrics, wonderful lip gloss and 3 quilting patterns!

I am so excited and can't wait to make something with the fabrics!

Today my package from Bren!

I got a fall panel with yardage pumpkin fabric! I have wanted that panel for sometime!

The pumpkin fabric is just perfect for the panel! Her daughter made the dish cloth!

It matches my kitchen to a tee!!! I have the perfect place for it!

Her son picked out the apple and sprayed it with cinnamon! Just right for fall!

And then to include my girls she sent them both a package of fun bands!

A PEPPERMINT EXPLOSION!!!!!

Does anyone out there like PEPPERMINT?!!!!

We love it! When we found these at JoAnn's( I know of all places, right?)!

We had to have them! The smell alone is out of this world, but then when you pop one of these in your mouth, it like explodes with peppermint, goey soft marshmallow covered with pink sugar! It is wonderful! Then we started thinking of all of the things you could do with these!

Dip them in chocolate, any kind of chocolate! Pop them in hot chocolate! And for an even more peppermint taste dip them in peppermint chocolate! YUMMM!!!

Keep looking for my birthday giveaway! It's coming really soon! All the stuff is not here yet, but even if it isn't here by Wednesday, I will post the details and photo of what I have!

HIBERNATION!!!!

Yes HIBERNATION! That is where I have been! See this cat? Now just imagine me in my jammies wrapped up in my big fuzzy blanket for nearly two weeks! I know I can't believe it either, but that is what I have done! It is lazy of me , I know but it felt wonderful! I read a number of books, Lilli and I played tons of games, and I didn't make any New Year Resolutions!

I guess I could have made some resolutions, but I just decided not to this year! I do every year, but some how I don't follow through. When I miss that first one then the rest of them just go by the way side. I am not kidding at all! I get way disappointed in myself and then I get sad so I decided just to take each day as it comes! Hopefully it will work out for the best!

Okay, on to the PURPLE STARFISH! Yes, that is what they are! You all know your sea creatures, that much I know! So I am sending every one of you a surprise! There weren't that many of you so we thought we should send you each a prize! Please send me your address! Thank you so much for playing!

Reasons why I didn't post yesterday......the winner is!

Can I just say it has been a long week along with a long weekend?!!!!! First the fun things we did!
The four of us, John, me, Gayle, and Lilli helped my Aunt Trudie and Uncle Jim celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday! Oh what fun! They had lots of guests! Family and friends I remembered from when I was little! Believe it or not I can actually remember a few things from way back then!LOL!
Monday, Lilli and I met my friend from college and her family at Ball State! I haven't seen her since 2003! It was soooo fun! Her son, Jacob is a freshman at BSU! We had supper together and got caught up, tried to get caught up! What a great time we had! Thanks guys for taking the time to meet us!
Now to my reasons for not posting yesterday! I had just sat down at my computer, still in my pjs, I might add, and my mom called to see if I could go get our neighbor lady from the hospital. She went the day before for an iron infusion and ended up getting a blood transfusion! It took 12 plus hours. I said sure I can. Just let me call my mother-in-law! I got Barb, ran in threw on clean clothes, not time for a shower, put on some make-up and grabbed my hat! I said Lilli if you're going with me you gotta be ready before Grandma Barb gets here. So in 10 minutes we were ready and Grandma Barb was here! I don't think Lilli has ever been dressed that fast ever! We went to get our neighbor and brought her home. We got her settled, came home, and then it was time for Lilli to go to lunch with mom, and me to feed Gayle! Then Lilli came home and I was really hungry for something very sweet and chocolate, so we had to bake Double Chocolate Muffins! I will post the recipe later! By this time John was home and said, oh I am going back to work at 3:00am! Well, I said, excuse me, 3:00am meaning you have to leave at 2:15am and we have to get up at 1:45am! He said yes. I am tellin' ya that means we have to go to bed at 8:00pm. There is no time for blogging at this rate! We had to run some errands, eat supper, clean up the kitchen, give Gayle a bath, pack his lunch, and breath a little in less then 5 hours. Good thing I cooked supper in the crock pot! A wonderful invention, that crock pot! Then my dad needed help with his phone and I had to take out the trash for pick-up today! In the mean time, Lilli said mom I don't think I can go to bed that early and go to sleep. I said I know. We decided to have an inside camp out! We could do this as long as John put in his ear plugs, which he did! Thanks, John! We had so much fun! We had baked smores, because the microwave is so loud and played games! We had a blast! So these are my excuses for not blogging yesterday! Sorry!

We do have a winner, even though I am a day late! My mom was able to pick the winner when she dropped Lilli off after their lunch!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!!!

I wrote the names in pencil so the name barely shows up, put it's PAM!!!! YAY!!!!
I just e-mailed her, so she knows!

I have lots more to blog, but I will do that later!

Another giveaway!

I have found another giveaway over at amuzeingjourney!
She has an amazing Harmony doll for the prize! There is still time, go check it out!

Finally the Birthday Party!

Can I just say that time flies when you're having fun?! And how! I was going to do this Monday and here it is Thursday almost Friday. We have had a very quick but sweet visit with my aunt and uncle from Florida. They are due to leave tomorrow morning. The need to beat Hanna home is very much on their minds. They were thinking about 4 days to get there now maybe 3 days. We will miss them but we understand. We are hoping for their save return and that they beat Hanna.
On to the party! It was a huge day, but lots of fun! We decorated with pink, brown and blue! They are very yummy colors together! As you can see we punched flowers and made a vase with stems for our door! When everyone came in they had to sign a flower and then we glued them to the vase or a stem!

It then looked like this! We then have something with everyones name on it to keep!

Aren't these glasses so girlie and vintage? They really looked pink before I filled them lots of chocolates! That's right, chocolate! Chocolate covered raisins(a personal favorite!),
chocolate covered peanuts and malted milk balls! What more can a girl ask for?!

Here is Lilli trying so hard to decorate cupcakes with our bag and decorative icing, but Martha we are not!!!! We need lots of practice! Maybe by my birthday we will have this mastered!

Here is the finished product! Notice the cupcake candle on top! That was from Linda!

Not such a really long one........I'm sleepy!!!

I know it is not Wednesday anymore and I am so sorry that I didn't get back here to post about the giveaway! I am here now, though! See this green towel tote! This is it! It is filled with tissue paper now, but when it arrives at the that lucky someone's home it will be filled with all kinds of goodies! You will be surprised, I am sure! Just leave me a comment from now until ......let's see......how about September 3! I will announce the winner on September 4! My mom's birthday! I know I said earlier that I was gonna post about the big party but it's not gonna happen! I am just too sleepy!

Lots to say today!

Hi! I hope you all are having a great weekend! It cooled off into the mid 80's here today! I know it is not really that cool, but there is not that much humidity! Thank goodness we finally got some rain yesterday! My garden was getting way too dry!

Here is a picture of the surprise giveaway we had! Kami left such a wonderful comment!
Anyway, we sent her a few of the things that we collect! I made the angel from a really old Tammy DeYoung pattern! An angel because that is what Gayle collects! A homemade apron, recipe cards, cookbook because I collect them! A Nancy Drew book, because she likes Nancy Drew and so does Lilli! Then we through in some scrapbook paper, buttons and ribbon because we have a passion for them! I also gave her the Mary Engelbreit Friends and Flowers charm pack!

As you can tell, I am still working on my blog list, I will get them all back on there soon!
When I as trying to get some of my old ones back one day, I found some new ones! Here are just a few I really like:
I love thirtyhandmadedays, lots of different ideas everyday for 30! Very fun!

Paperandstring is very cool and has lots of neat things for sale!

Going to a summer wedding! Lilli and John are all dressed up in summer wedding clothes!
Anyway, John is wearing Dockers and Marc Edwards!(from Kohl's)LOL!
Lilli's I made along with my Janome!(which I love!) She has wanted me to make her a dress forever! So I thought this would be the perfect time! I have to say it has probably been 5 or 6 years since I made her a dress! Well, she went crazy for it and I had so much fun! I learned how to make bias tape all over again! How to just relax and enjoy sewing! I have to say it is a good thing to make something! I love it and I have missed it terribly!
Lilli's dress is from Simplicity #3546 inspired by project runway! I will have to say I let her pick out the parts that she wanted! So actually you could say that she designed it herself! Have I told you that she loves to design clothes?! I have a feeling that she just might for the October wedding we have!

This is the purse I made to go with it! She just went nuts when she saw it finished! The pattern I used was from Gingham Collection! So cute!

Today is my friend's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Deanna!

That was a mouthful!

My growing garden!

Here are a few pictures of my growing garden! I have to say that this is the first year that we have had such enormous plants and so many vegetables coming from them! It must have been the horses! LOL!

Here is a leaf from one of the zucchini plants! It measures about 25 inches wide!
We have had probably around 20 zucchini already!

This is one of the tomato plants! It is huge! They all are! I am not kidding you when I say they all have at least 30 green tomatoes on them and at least that many blooms! We have had a few red big ones off of them but lots of little ones!
